Can I Get A Discount ?
YES – if you get someone in your area to book an inspection we drop the fee to $330 each or if your are currently unemployed or on a full government pension, just show your card.
How much is the Fee for Pool Inspection and Certificate of Compliance/inspection report ?
For normal pool or spa with 1 pool gate ;
Fee 01 Residential pool or spa barrier inspection by Licensed Building Surveyor Pools: $395. Same price for city or country farms
Fee 02 Physical Building work for new fence / to Make Good Pool Barrier fence & Gate Work are always quoted as they will all vary.$QUOTED
Fee 03 OnSite Assessment by Certified person and Quote to make good, ready for Compliance check:$330.
Fee 04 Commercial pool or spa barrier inspection by Licensed Building Surveyor Pools: from $495.
Fee 05 Re-inspection by Licensed Building Surveyor Pools: $110.
Fee 06 Serve Fencing Notices / Get Building Permit: from $297 / $550+ costs.
Fee 07 Survey Title Boundary: from $880.
02 What Does the Pool Inspection Fee cover ?
Travel to and from your property, if the property is within 100km from Melbourne CBD or Geelong CBD or Ballarat CBD or Bendigo CBD;
Inspection of your Pool and Spa barrier by a registered building inspector; and
Issuing of;
Form 23 – CBC Certificate of pool and spa barrier compliance; or
Form 24 – CBNC Certificate of pool and spa barrier non-compliance; or
An inspection report to identify the non-compliance items(e.g.fence) against Australian Standard requirements for required rectification work.
03 How Do I pay for my Pool Inspection ?
The owner of the property makes payment to our Account by direct transfer (call 0468377999 for details) to secure a booking.
04 Where do I get the date of construction of the swimming pool or spa and relevant standard from ?
When you register your pool the council provides you with the date of construction and the applicable standard,
The relevant pool standard also is specified on the letter from council when you register your pool/spa. We can do this on your behalf for $55 +costs,council fees of approx $80, allow $135.
05 What is the process if the pool fence is NON-compliant ?
If we find the barrier is non-compliant, we will issue a notice, specifying the issues,
the period the barrier must be made compliant by (maximum 60 days) and set a time for reinspection.
Alternatively, where we find there is an imminent danger, by LAW we are compelled (we also get penalty if we don’t)
to issue a certificate of pool and barrier Non-compliant CBNC.
After re-inspection, if we determine that the pool barrier is compliant, we issue a certificate of barrier compliance CBC,
and you the owner must then lodge the certificate with your local council.
If the barrier remains non-compliant, but we are satisfied that progress has been made towards bringing the barrier into compliance, we will allow you an additional seven days to rectify the barrier. Otherwise, it is stated in the LAW that we must issue a certificate of barrier non-compliance.
If we issue a certificate of barrier non-compliance, we must lodge it with the relevant council and provide you with a copy.
06 I am worried about a penalty How long before I can get my pool inspected please ?
Bookings require 2 days notice and we guarantee to turn up and to take a booking within 5 business days as we block out our time dedicated to your appointment.
Urgent EXPRESS Bookings $550 Inspection Fee by A Licensed Surveyor (POOLS)
07 Terms and Conditions that the owner or owners appointed agent must agree are identified here.
1. If the owner reschedules, they must CALL the inspector at least 48 hours before the booked inspection TIME
or they will be liable to pay a rebook fee of $88 as we block out time for your appointment and guarantee to pay our people.
2. The owner must provide safe access for us and to demonstrate their willingness to comply to the required Australian Standard – it is also the law.
3. The applicant (owner or owners appointed agent) agrees to accept all communications such as calendar invites for inspections, Compliance and Non Compliance Notices,
notices for required rectifications and certificates by email provided in our Booking Application Form.
If we receive no response, it means that the applicant acknowledges that they have received our correspondence and have agreed with our resolution.
4. The owner must warrant the accuracy of information provided in the Application Form. e.g. owner’s name and applicable building standard identified on the council registration form.
5. The owner warrants to pay an additional $198 if re-inspection is required or when we must issue a certificate of pool and spa barrier non-compliance when the pool has remained non-compliant.
6. The owner warrants that we are not liable for any cost, loss, prohibitions, imposts, amenity loss, damage or defects that arise from or as a result of our work or inspection or assessment unless we have been grossly negligent in providing our services.
7. The owner agrees to indemnify and keep indemnified us from and against all suits, actions, claims or demands by any person for any loss, damages, expense or costs incurred in connection with or arising from our services.
8. The owner agrees if the information provided to us was incorrect, and as a result, we must issue a new certificate, the owner pays $198 for a new certificate.
9. The owner agrees, our liability shall be limited to the direct cost of pool inspection and not include any legal or other fees.
10. The owner agrees to provide a copy of the council registration letter PRIOR TO THE INSPECTION DATE or a fee of $135 will apply for us to obtain one and the owner will consent to this.
11. If the owner requires us also to register the pool, an additional $135 applies to this service (excludes site visit paperwork only).
12. Inspections Quoted where past a 50km radius from the Melbourne CBD or Ballarat CBD or Geelong CBD attract a $2 per kilometre for travel and an hourly rate of $55 as we have to pay our people.
